Description
VMware Fusion 12 Pro for Mac
VMware Fusion: Simple yet powerful virtual machines for Mac
With VMware Fusion, Mac users can run Windows and hundreds of other operating systems side-by-side with Mac applications without having to restart. Simple for consumers, Fusion offers powerful features for IT professionals, developers, and businesses.
VMware Fusion: Simple but powerful
To run virtually any operating system on a Mac
With VMware Fusion, you can choose from hundreds of supported operating systems, from lesser-known Linux distributions to the latest version of Windows 10, which can run alongside the latest version of macOS.
Connect to VMware vSphere
Securely connect to vSphere, ESXi, and desktop servers to start, control, and manage both virtual machines (VMs) and physical hosts. The VMware Common Platform makes it easy to move VMs from vSphere datacenters to Mac desktops and then run them in Fusion.
Development and testing capabilities for any platform
Fusion makes it easy to test virtually any operating system and application on a Mac. Build and test applications in a sandbox while securely sharing local source files and folders. Fusion Pro now includes a RESTful API for integration with modern development tools such as Docker, Vagrant, Ansible, Chef, and many more. As a result, the powerful capabilities of VMware are now available for today’s agile, DevOps-oriented production pipelines.
Design and demonstration of complex solutions
Solution architects can run an entire virtual cloud stack on a single Mac to demonstrate their complete software solution in real time. They have secure rollback points that allow them to revert to familiar configurations. Visualize the evolution of your software by running and demonstrating all its components on a single laptop.
FUNCTIONS
Main functions:
- Premium Desktop Hypervisor: Run virtual machines, containers, and Kubernetes clusters on your Mac
- Compatible with macOS Big Sur 11.0 for Intel and the latest versions of Windows 10
- Improved 3D graphics with DirectX 11 and 8GB vGPU, now compatible with eGPU devices
- Connecting to vSphere or ESXi hosts for remote workloads
- Modify virtual network topologies and simulate packet loss or latency
Ready for macOS Catalina
Run almost any operating system on macOS 10.15 Catalina without restarting. Fusion now supports the impressive Dark Mode and the all-new Sidecar feature. Sidecar lets you run Windows in full screen on your iPad as a second display—with support for mouse, keyboard, Apple Pencil, and full touchscreen.
Powerful graphics
Fusion offers an enhanced, hardware-accelerated 3D graphics engine for complex, GPU-intensive projects, applications, and games. It leverages Apple’s Metal graphics technology. Fusion leads the way in VM performance and graphics precision with DirectX 10.1 and OpenGL 3.3 support for Windows and Linux VMs and up to 3 GB of vRAM per VM.
Improved vSphere connectivity
Connect to vCenter, ESXi, or Workstation Pro servers to run virtual machines or ESXi hosts to execute, control, and configure them. This improves visibility into the data center and host topology. Thanks to the proven VMware hypervisor on which Fusion is built, you can easily move virtual machines with simple drag and drop. You can also control virtual machines from the comfort of your Mac, directly from the corporate data center. Available only in Fusion Pro.
Support for the latest Windows 10 updates
Stay at the forefront of technology and benefit from full support for using the latest versions of Windows 10 as a virtual machine on your Mac.
Fusion REST API
Fusion Pro provides a secure RESTful API service specifically designed for automation and third-party software integration. Based on the Swagger.io framework, it uses the standard Fusion API HTTP/S and JSON to control over 25 different operations across virtual machines, hosts, and networks. Create custom deployment tools to deliver macOS as a service, or integrate Fusion into a modern, continuously iterative development pipeline with automated testing. Now available in all editions of Fusion.
Unit display mode
Fusion’s Unity display mode lets you hide the Windows desktop and run Windows applications just like Mac applications. You can present yourself, launch Windows applications directly from the Dock, Spotlight, or Launchpad, and then view them in Exposé, Spaces, and Mission Control, just like Mac applications.
AREAS OF APPLICATION
VMware Fusion is suitable for all Mac users. Whether you’re an IT professional, a developer, or a business, you’ll all choose VMware Fusion Pro. Its comprehensive operating system support, exceptional stability, and advanced features that are simply unavailable in a non-virtualized environment speak for themselves.
